Full Day #1: Success!

Hello all! Today was a fantastic day! First, Chamber Singers sang in a mass this morning that was really fun and interesting. It was long, but it was a great experience to collaborate with another choir and sing some cool stuff. After that, we got 4 hours in the city to do whatever we want. This is a chronicle of my adventures for the day! Here we go.
This is what they call "The Castle." It's a museum on the inside. So pretty!

Museum for African Art. Really awesome stuff inside, which you'll see later!

Adrienne and I in front of the gorgeous magnolias. They were everywhere!

Smithsonian museum of Natural History. HUGEEE!

Dinosaur exhibit at the Smithsonian.

We love awkward turtles! It looks so happy!

And more awkward turtling.

The hope diamond! This does it absolutely no justice- I was in love!

John in a giraffe hat!

Gorgeous magnolias- and my photo skills from my phone. :)

This is a coffin from the Museum of African Art. So neat!

Really cool- see the following picture for a close-up!

Such exact engraving. Awesome!

A painting at the Museum of African Art. Love this!

An old post office in the middle of the city that we saw while looking for food. Pretty!

Rachel and Jory were excited about the concert we were about to do!
That's it for now! Check back tomorrow for more updates. We're going to the Supreme Court and singing with the Maryland State Boychoir tomorrow, so it should be awesome! Until then, faithful followers!
Cheers,
Megan King
